Celtics better without Rajon Rondo? Doc: "That's silly."

On WEEI's Dennis & Callahan Show this morning, Boston's head coach Doc Rivers was asked if he thought his team might be better without it's star point guard.  Here's Doc's response:
That’s silly. The bottom line is that you’d rather have him. But we do have other guys that can do different things. Having Courtney Lee and Avery [Bradley] gives you size at the guard spot. They are more physical guards so in that way that helps. Everybody does different things and that’s basically who we are now. In spurts, last night, we played well. The second quarter was as well as you can play. When you win games you would have to say, yeah, it’s going well.

"Well" is probably an understatement for that second quarter.  The Celtics outscored the Kings 37-14 in the frame, while hitting the first 14 shots they took in the period.  I had a feeling this team might come together with some inspired play in the aftermath of losing Rondo.  The question is how long can they sustain it?  One thing I did not expect however was the reaction from the crowd.  It was loud in the Garden last night; probably the most noise I'd heard at the start of a game all season since the home opener.  Celtics fans clearly still have some faith and enthusiasm for this team.
