Celtics looking to add another point guard

The Celtics wanted Dooling to return because of his steadiness and veteran presence. Now they are seeking a replacement just a week before training camp.

“We’ll miss Keyon’s spirit and energy, both on and off the court,” said Celtics president Danny Ainge said in a statement.

Point guards on the free agent market include Derek Fisher, Jonny Flynn, Mike Bibby, and Carlos Arroyo.

I feared this might happen when it was announced that Keyon Dooling was retiring. Please Danny just say no to Derek Fisher or Mike Bibby. I don't want those corpses wearing green. Terry and Bradley can handle the back-up point guard minutes. There are only about 10 of them a game. Jamar Smith is another point guard in camp, but he's not making the team. He's not an NBA caliber player.

Some people say Dionte Christmas can play the 1, but I didn't see those skills during Summer League. He looked like more of a 2/3 to me. Unfortunately I see either him or Kris Joseph getting cut for another point guard. Part of me would rather see the Celtics just eat Jason Collins' contract as he was pretty useless before and even more useless now with Darko on board.
