According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, Dwight Howard's management is preparing to ask Orlando to trade D12 to the New Jersey Nets. We have heard in the past that Howard is not a fan of cold weather, but perhaps the allure of NYC and the Nets moving to Brooklyn has changed Dwight's mind.

From ESPN.com:
The New Jersey Nets have been told by Dwight Howard's representatives have told that they are his preferred destination and that the Orlando Magic superstar is preparing to ask the Magic to trade him to the Nets, according to sources close to the situation.

Howard has yet to tell the Magic that he will not re-sign with them after this season, but the sources said he will within the next few days, perhaps as early as Friday. There is also a chance that Howard will not attend the opening of training camp Friday, according to one of the sources.

As ESPN.com reported last week, the Nets are ready to offer the Magic a package built around center Brook Lopez and two first-round draft picks, New Jersey's own and one the Nets acquired from Houston in a previous trade, according to sources.

What sucks about the cancelled CP3 trade is now the Lakers can trade Bynum and Odom for Howard. I don't think Bynum would have been enough.

Lakers will be much better with Kobe, Gasol, Howard than they would have been with CP3, Kobe, and Bynum.

I just can't believe the events of the past 24 hours. It's been crazy.

As a Celtics fan, I would've enjoyed watching the Lakers implode if that CP3 deal went through before Stern denying it! No size, no bench, dragging injury-prone center, no championship!

Orlando gave this guy all the support he needed the past 2 seasons but he still couldn't win. He's a choker and a really big brat!

  5. JR says:

That's why a team like the Thunder is lucky. They have a cool, humble star and then a bunch of likable guys around him. The prima donnas of the league are getting tiresome.

Couldn't agree with you more on both comments JR

this is out of content but I just read on twitter Nates days as an Thunder are over????? is this true can someone dig into this?? i want nate back!!!

  8. DH says:

Nate and the Thunder are parting ways. See this article.

  9. ThomasJ says:

I still think the LA trade for Paul was being made with the plan of also going after Howard. Right JR, Bynum alone wouldn't be enough but using the trade exception from the Paul trade they could have taken on Hedu's horrid contract.

  10. JR says:

You may be right thomasJ. Do luxury tax teams get trade exceptions? Anyone know ?

Btw this Howard news is a reason I was against the celtics selling the farm to get CP3. The idea that Howard would play out the season in Orlando and then take less to sign in Boston was never realistic. Howard either will resign in Orlando or demand a trade to where he wants. LA, Brooklyn, NY, MIA.

WTF?? Where's the love for Boston?!

    Yeah Westbrook is a sweetheart.

  15. Stanky Rudy says:

Going to the soon to be Brooklyn Nets with Williams to face off in epic subway series battles against the Knicks? Sounds like fun to me if I was D12. But I the request to trade. He boss, I request you find me a new job, pronto. Life works like that right?

that is a terrible statement----the magic will not be a champion until they get a different coach period. I know all you magic fans think I am crazy. Think about it he has had o'neil'... tracy and many others and they all want to be traded...WHY flip the coin and he has great players and they don't play much, SORRY but deal with the truth. o now the magic is going to be without superman

  17. Anonymous says:

the coach might be the boss but he must be fair and honest with his players

Forget it HOWARD won't gotto Lakers the NETS package is way better! Bynum? really? so stupid you think anyone would take him over Lopez. Bynum is ofetn injured and a knee injury away from retirement as Lopez is NOT ONLY a BETTER center but a healthy one. Add TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS and you really think unless Howard say's im not signing with the Nets just the Lakers that Orlando would rather take lakers package then you dont have a basketball IQ!

  19. Anonymous says:

the NBA is Boring and the players dont have an IQ higher than a 12 year old
