According to ESPN's Chris Broussard and Marc Stein, Chris Paul will be heading to Los Angeles, but to the Clippers and not the Lakers. CP3 and Blake Griffin together would be pretty sick, but the sides seem to be arguing as to whether Eric Bledsoe will be included in the deal.

From ESPN.com:
The New Orleans Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers submitted a multiplayer blockbuster deal to the NBA on Sunday that would send All-Star point guard Chris Paul to Los Angeles, a source with knowledge of the discussions said Monday.

But the trade as presented has one hitch: The league, which owns the Hornets, wanted Eric Bledsoe, while the Clippers want to keep their point guard, the source said.

The deal would be done if the league hadn't asked for Bledsoe, according to the source.

The trade as submitted would cost the Clippers guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman and forward Al-Farouq Aminu. It would also include Minnesota's first-round draft pick in 2012.

Eric Gordan and Chris Kaman? I would understand that if they were trading for Dwight Howard, but i just dont see why these teams (Celtics included) are trying to give up mulitiple all star players AND future draft picks just for Chris Paul. Im not a Chris Paul hater and i dont have anything against him, but to me his knee issues are a huge problem and it has really decreased his value imo (especially @his age). If i were a GM i honestly wouldnt look to trade for him. I mean, look @ Brandon Roy. He is a young talented player with bad knees. Who knows, Paul might be in the same situation as him in a few years (I really dont wanna speak that on him, but hey you never know...)

....hopefully the Clippers hurry up and sign him so Danny can stop trying to trade Rondo.

agree with PBB on the Chris Paul hype...I wish he signs with someone already. For as long as he's still out there Ainge will continue to try trading Rondo to get him.

Eric bledsoe is the hold up? Really? They will have Mo Williams backing Chris Paul. Blake & Jordan bout to put on a dunk fest. Paul/Gordon/Butler/BG/Jordan is a top 4 team in the west.

I feel that the Celtics' front office is playing out the opening scene from "Once Upon a Time in the West." You have Danny Ainge as Jack Elam, Doc Rivers as Woody Strode and Wyc Grousbeck as Al Mulock. They're waiting for the train to show up and it should have Harmonica on it. And they wait. And the water drips. And they wait. And the windmill creaks. And they wait. And they crack their knuckles. And they wait. And the telegraph machine goes off. And they wait. And a fly buzzes.

The only difference is Harmonica shows up and shoots them all. For the Celtics front office, they just keep waiting to do something as time passes them by.

Really a bleak time to be a Celtics fan. Everybody is back to not wanting to sign with Boston. They can't make any moves. And any guys who can be moved are getting signed.

I'd love it if Paul-Griffin become the more popular team of the two teams in LA.

I don't understand these people saying "I wouldn't trade for Paul"

I don't think these people have ever really seen him play. Especially in last year's playoffs.

He's the best point guard in the NBA. A true point guard, not just a scorer like Rose. Blake and Paul will be amazing to watch.

  8. Lol if The Clippers don't get CP3 because they were unwilling to part with Eric Bledsoe... but that sounds like the type of thing that would happen to Clipper fans.

  9. Good deal for the Clippers. Paul to Griffin combo will be awesome to watch.

@hiyyooo, i clearly stated why i wouldnt trade for paul. I didnt say it has anything to do w/his skill set. And like ive said plenty of times before - and i still do believe - paul is the best (most complete) pg in the nba. BUT his knees are a huge issue. What if Danny did trade for Paul and include Rondo, Moore, and Bradley in the deal, and then Paul hurt his knees? What would we do? We wouldnt have Rondo, Bradley, Moore & West hasnt been resigned - we would have no pg besides Dooling, and who is supped to come off the bench as backup pg? We probably wouldnt even be able to afford another pg cause Danny was planning on overpaying cp3

Gordon + a top pick in a great 2012 draft is a lot. Add in Kaman and Aminu and the HornetsLeague are just being greedy asking for Bledsoe.
