Boston Celtics (0,0) at Toronto Raptors (0,0)
Preseason Game 1
Sunday, December 18
1:00 PM ET
TV: CSNNE, SNET, NBA-LP 751
Air Canada Centre
Celtics' basketball is finally back!! Granted it's only a preseason game after a very short and chaotic training camp. but it's Celtics' basketball nonetheless. The Celtics begin their preseason against the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre. Although I'm excited to see the Celtics on the court again, I'm not expecting a very polished or pretty game.

Training camp has been frustrating for the Celtics due to late signings and injury problems. Paul Pierce has not been able to practice due to a sore heel and is not expected to play in this game. Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, and Sasha Pavlovic have also missed practice time with minor injuries. The latest blow came when the Celtics announced that Jeff Green would miss the entire season with an aortic aneurysm.
The Raptors haven't had injury problems, but they also have had the short training camp to prepare and head coach Dwayne Casey is still trying to decide on his starting lineup. Expect Casey to look at several different lineups as he evaluates his players and tried to settle on his starting lineup for the regular season.

For the fans of both teams who
have waited so long to watch NBA basketball again, this won't just be a trivial pre-season game. It will be the start of a season that many doubted would ever take place. So, no matter which players are on the court or how badly the teams play in their first real action, fans will be thrilled just to have basketball to watch again.

    Finally..

    Basketball.

If Rondo doesnt play i see AB starting in his place.
If KG is out then Bass is obviously the next in line.
And i think Doc will start Quis @ SF.

  2. Dakuj says:

I had to check if we had signed Sasha Vujacic and I hadn't heard about it, you may want to change that

  3. PBB says:

    Pavlovic, not Vujacic

  4. Anonymous says:

Is this on league pass broadband?

  5. Three Toe says:

I don't know if I've ever been so happy to see an FLCeltsFan preview before! WOO GO C'S!

I live in toronto... and I will see this.... I called in sick for work for this lol... I honestly want Gilbert brown to be part of the roster he is a promising 3 guard

  7. Oh my. That's what I get for doing this late at night. No, thank goodness it is Pavlovic and not Vujabrick. I changed it.

  8. I don't know if it's on League Pass Broadband, but it is listed on Direct TV on channel 751. It would be worth checking to see if they will be carrying it on broadband.

  9. Hung like Horse says:

    Gilbert brown our savior!

What I've seen so far is actually quite impressive given the chaos surrounding the league and our beloved Celtics.

We're playing against Toronto, but still, good job. I love the contribution from JO, Bass and Wilcox.

Marquis gets his own paragraph. Welcome back.

  11. shelbyl says:

    Stiemsma!

I like what I see in Stiemsma and JaJuan. Athletic, a good understading of D. They will be our joker guys in a long season to come.

Can't say the same for Bradley. He's too obvious with his offensive moves, his defense is good, but is still on the rough side. This kid has potential, but I don't know if Doc will be able to mold sth out of him.

Moore was impressive as well. He looks readier than Bradley does. He provided two jumpers (one of them being a slight fadeaway) for the win.

Brown is trying, but he's not at the NBA level.

Dooling was a head scratcher for me (and for JR), but seeing him in Celtics jersey I can see why Doc wanted him and trusts him. Smooth veteran.

Where the hell was Pavlovic, is he injured or paperwork problems or sth?

Ok I think that covers everyone.
