There were a bunch of dropouts announced yesterday including LeBron and his buddies 'Melo and Chris Paul, but Celtics KG, Pierce, and Rondo are all still planning on playing in the All-Star Classic. The first game will be played in Puerto Rico on Sunday.

NBA.com
Organizers say Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade are expected to headline an exhibition basketball game in Puerto Rico on Sunday.

According to a press release, the World All-Star Classic also will feature Amare Stoudemire, Blake Griffin, Carlos Boozer, Chris Kaman, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Kevin Garnett, Kevin Love, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Tyson Chandler.
This news is via a press release, but it should be noted that there are no guarantees that listed players will play on this tour and even if the games will still take place if the lockout ends this week. Just want to give a warning to Celtics fans in Puerto Rico, England, China, and Australia. If these games do go as scheduled though, how awesome is this for Celtics fans from so far away to get to see these Celtics stars up close? As some of our foreign readers have commented already, it will be a dream come true.

Thanks Jeniel for posting the link in the Shout Box.

  1. I wonder why I wasn't named to the team... how are these guy gonna beat Puerto Rico without my tough interior presence?

  2. Jeff Green says:

Where's my invite? Wait, you have to be an all-star, or at least a starter, or at least not suck? Nevermind then.

  3. Kevin Garnett says:

@Jeff coz you ain't got a ring SON!

  4. YGR says:

@KG, that isn't a legit argument against Jeff. Durant doesn't have a ring. STAT and Blake Griffin don't have rings. Boozer, Kaman, Bosh, Howard, and Love all don't have rings. More than half of this team doesn't have a ring.

  5. @YGR way to kill the theme...

  6. Yo Jeff! Don't be so hard on yourself man. You've been playing quite a bit this summer and you've looked good. I haven't seen Perk playing anywhere...

Hey Perk! If Durant and those guys are so happy to have you, why don't they invite you to play with them? Jeff Green is still playing with them... that must be awkward for you. Sorry big guy.

  7. @Rajon, These Summer games aren't for centers... at least that's what my agent said. Just running and gunning and dunking.

  8. No Walter Ray Jesus Three Point King Shuttlesworth Allen?
