This quote pulled from a NBA.com story doesn't make things sound too good for the season to start.
“If I had to bet on it at this moment, I would probably say” there will not be a 2011-12," said Billy Hunter, the head of the National Basketball Players Association.

The piece also goes into David Stern's role in negotiations, not exactly painting him in a great light either.
In the same Sun story, Hunter said David Stern was being limited by some owners in negotiations, insisting the commissioner take a hard line in trying to negotiate a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
“In the last six or seven years, there is a new group of owners to come in who paid a premium for their franchises, and what they’re doing is kind of holding his feet to the fire,” Hunter said.

Oh please this is nothing more than posturing right now. The public can be so easily led. You want to get all riled up? Go ahead! I don't buy what Billy Hunter is selling. Bottom line is MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY!!There's too much at stake. This is what happened with football. The media kept stoking the flames and whoever claimed "the sky is falling" got face time. It's overblown and much too early to start worrying. I'll start if and when it gets to labor day and nothing is happening. Lighten up!!
