Jon Jacobson

Jon Jacobson (SCAL-4-THREE!) is currently a junior English/Writing major at Binghamton University in New York, and has been watching the Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins since age five. He is a diehard Celtics fan, and has been writing about them since August 2010. Jon remembers cheering for players like Allan Ray instead of Ray Allen like it was yesterday, and the day the Celtics won the NBA Finals in 2008 was undeniably one of the happiest moments of his life.

Jon's favorite player is Paul Pierce because of the work he has put in over the years, and all the ups and downs he has gone through as a member of the Celtics... However, Jon also respects and greatly misses Brian Scalabrine who became a huge part of Celtics' culture during his time in Boston. He still often sports his Scalabrine jersey, especially at the TD Garden, and hopes that Scal can someday be reunited with the Celtics, whether it be as a reserve player, coach, or any other part of the organization.

As a Boston fan in New York, Jon often has to defend his favorite teams, and when he isn't writing articles about the Celtics, he is usually in a heated argument with friends over things such as Kevin Garnett, Amare Stoudemire, or LeBron James. Jon also plays basketball in his free time, and as a senior in high school, he set the single game three point record in a local basketball league by making 9 out of 11 shots from behind the arc. He also coached a team of high school freshmen to the playoffs, and hopes that one day he can use the skills and knowledge of basketball he has acquired over the years toward whatever career he may pursue.
