Doc and Rasheed need to be put in time-out

After last night's game I've realized two things; Rasheed doesn't read CelticsLife and the Celtics need a time management coach.  Rasheed had another abysmal night from three, going 1-8 and that was pretty much the ball game.  Can anyone tell me why he plays 39 minutes and Big Baby plays 12? I am going on record as saying Rasheed is the most frustrating Celtics player I've ever watched. Maybe Doc needs to just sit him for a game to wake him up. That or a closed door session with Garnett and Perkins.

The game itself was full of runs and missed opportunities.  The Celtics had a bunch of chances to win at the end of the game but couldn't make the clutch shot or get defensive rebounds. The Hawks don't scare me as much as I thought they would, simply because I realize they are way too inconsistent to beat the Celtics in a 7 game series.  However, the addition of Jamaal Crawford gives them an added dimension off the bench they didn't have before.

I thought Pierce was rusty but came on late in the game.  For his first couple games back I thought he has adjusted well.  Rondo had a decent game, though I think he needs to be more aggressive offensively with Garnett gone. Perk did a pretty good job on the boards, but had a bunch of shots blocked by the athletic Hawks big men.  Ray Allen continues to be the Celtics most clutch shooter, and there is no reason anyone but him should be taking shots in the last 2 minutes.
On the Hawks side, Josh Smith is a beast definsively, but I jump for joy every time he shoots from the outside. Joe Johnson had a rather quiet game, though it still pains me to think the Celtics let him go.  The rest of their starters are all solid players, but not great.  Crawford reminds me a bit of Ben Gordon in that he can shoot you in and shoot you out of games in a matter of minutes.  The Hawks overall play like the young team they are.  Full of energy but with a lack of direction.  I look forward to seeing them again in the playoffs.

Overall, not too bad of a loss, but the bigger picture is more disturbing.  For all the good Rasheed brings to the Celtics, his three point shooting WILL prevent us from winning a title.  For people who think it isn't a big deal, you are kidding yourselves and in severe denial.  My hopes are that he is just getting this out of his system in the regular season before he clamps down in the playoffs.  Also, the absence of Marquis is really hurting us. Rondo is the best player on this team and the only player we cannot afford to lose or have be fatigued come playoff time. We need Marquis in there as a backup point guard or the Celtics need to make a move.  I'm glad the Celtics get another crack at the Hawks Monday and am confident they will win.
