Jayson Tatum can step right in on offense for Celts-NBA Media Day

Well, it's NBA media day, and things are starting to move towards opening day. During the day's proceedings Marc D'Amico, Boston Celtics Reporter/Analyst had some thoughts on rookie, Jayson Tatum.

Marc said that the Celtics had not had a rookie in the last decade or decade-and-a-half. since Paul Pierce, with the ability to "step right in" on offense. "Give him the ball and he can score, in the post or on the wing."

D'Amico continued by stating that there is "no indecision in his (Tatum's) moves. He can provide offense from day one." Marc felt that Jaylen Brown will be a scorer down the road, but Tatum can contribute on offense immediately, and in many ways.

I think many of see the same thing. Jaylen will at least start the season on the bench, but we should see offensive production right away. And Marc has not seen that type of rookie potential since Paul was drafted. This kid is a keeper.
