Jaylen Brown arrives in Johannesburg for the 2017 NBA Africa Game

For the 2nd time in league history the NBA has organized an exhibition game in South Africa. The matchup consists of NBA players making up a 'World' vs 'Africa' exhibition with players of African descent making up the latter squad. The league selected Jaylen Brown as a member of the World Team. He's down in Johannesburg now getting ready for Saturday's game and exploring South Africa. Via Tom Westerholm of MassLive:

"I came here an empty slate, just hoping to see what Africa was about etc., what South Africa was going to look like," Brown said. "I didn't have any expectations, so I wasn't really surprised. But I was pleased with a lot of different things I've seen here. A lot of the stereotypes etc. don't apply to Johannesburg, South Africa."

The players chosen essentially serve as ambassadors for the NBA and help spread the game overseas while at the same time giving fans in those areas something special with the game coming this weekend. It's a pretty interesting mix of guys playing as Team World is comprised of captains Dirk Nowitzki and Kemba Walker who will lead a group consisting of Brown, DeMarcus Cousins, Kristaps Porzingis, CJ McCollum, and Kyle Lowry among others.

Team Africa is captained by Loul Deng and Thabo Sefolosha and features Joel Embiid, Bismack Biyombo, Emmanuel Mudiay, and Dennis Schroder among others.

It's an honor for Brown that the NBA chose him as a global representative for the league. He quoted his friend and teammate Isaiah Thomas when he spoke to reporters earlier today:

"I might misquote this: 'If I go down in history, or if I'm just known when I die, as a good basketball player, then I didn't do my job. I failed as a human being.' I think that's one of the things Isaiah on our team says a lot, and I think he lives by that. That's something I kind of hold myself to the same standard. If you just remember me for being a good basketball player, I didn't do enough while I was here."

Good standards to live by if you ask me.

And now, make sure you're sitting down, a video of Jaylen making a trillion threes in a row:
