A lot of what we guessed might have been going on in today's CL Podcast sounds about right, though it's up to you to decide if you're buying everything Bartelstein claims went down. It does shed light on a fundamental journalistic practice seemingly absent in much of yesterday's reporting - get confirmation from the horse's mouth when you have a non-primary "source". Everyone gets burned from time to time, but in these situations, where there's only ONE person who can give you a definite answer, all it takes is a phone call to separate "rumored to" from "is".
