Yabusele to have bone spurs removed, likely to miss Summer League

Turns out, Isaiah Thomas isn't the only Boston Celtic who may go under the knife for leg issues this summer.

Chris Forsberg of ESPN reports Guerschon Yabusele will be getting minor surgery to remove bone spurs over the summer. He will more than likely miss Summer League while he recovers, but should be fine by the time training camp rolls around. No need for alarm, bone spur removal is one of the more common and arguably least invasive surgeries professional athletes receive. It's quite normal for people who use their body as much and as hard to need such operations, as they are part of the body's normal response to stress on the skeletal system.

Still, it's certainly going to be something of a disappointment for Celtics fans, who have been patiently waiting to see the Dancing Bear in action a little closer to home. There is no better time for such an operation, however, and Yabu - as he's come to be known already among many fans - is in otherwise excellent shape, so we're more than likely going to see plenty of him come the 2017-18 regular season.
