Guerschon Yabusele was impressive in his Maine debut on Friday

The Dancing Bear is finally dancing in New England! Alright, well the game was actually in North Carolina, but you know what I mean. After signing with the Maine Red Claws earlier this week, Guerschon Yabusele logged 25 minutes in Friday's matchup with the Greensboro Swarm. His first field goal? A slashing slam through the lane:

That's what we like to see! Yabu clearly wasted no time to show off his bounce. The 6'8" forward posted 17 points, got to the line 10 times and hit nine of the attempts, and grabbed nine boards:

Side note: Jordan Mickey was 3/4 from three? Okay, Mickey. Okay.

Most Celtics fans are rightfully excited about Yabusele, the 16th pick of the 2016 Draft. A D-League debut like this is encouraging to see, although the fouling will certainly need to be worked on. I cannot see a scenario where he is called up to the Celtics this year with the playoffs right around the corner, but Yabu will likely be in a great position to fight for a 2017-18 roster spot.

Here are some more highlights from his first game with the Red Claws on Friday:

Can't wait to see how this versatile kid develops in the coming years. Can he become a French Draymond (minus the whole kicking-people-in-the-nuts thing, of course)?
