For fans upset the Celtics didn't make a trade, this graphic should cheer you up

Yesterday I made the case for why the Celtics might be better off not making a trade at all.  I'm not entirely convinced I believe that, but the C's are still in very good shape regardless.  Many, many franchises would love to be in the position of having a solid young club that's in line for home-court advantage in the playoffs, as well as a top lottery pick (a very unusual combination) and tons of cap room next summer--not to mention the best up-and-coming coach in the league.

Along those lines, Real GM tweeted out this graphic last week and I've been waiting for just the right time to slap a big red arrow on it and use it in a post.  That time is now:

The Celtics (listed as the league's fifth-youngest squad by NBA.com last month) are the only young team in the NBA that ranks among the top 10 in both offense (ninth) and defense (fourth).  Boston is also one of just two teams (the Warriors are predictably the other) in the top 10 in offense, defense and pace (third).

Don't fret Celtics fans, the future is bright.
