Green Envy: What Hornets fans said - 12/12

The Hornets have been one of the surprising teams in the East that are outperforming expectations. They came into Saturday with a 14-8 record despite missing key pieces like Al Jefferson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Even so, Hornets fans were very aware of how good the Celtics are this year and knew their team had to step up even though Boston lost a hard-fought game to the Warriors the night before.

Top Three

We can not let them win the battle of the White Walkers.

I still can't stand Al, but this is a game he'd dominate in.
I don't miss him though.

We've gotta find a way to get Frank, Hawes, Hansbrough, the Zellers, Lee, Jerebko, and Olynyk on the court together. Would have to be a modern NBA record of some kind.

Tons of hair talk

breaking news: Spencer Hawes is the guy behind all Jeremy Lin's hairdos, basically Spencer came up with every style lin has shown

Lin must be dating an aspiring hair stylist. A guy would only do this for a girl. Am I right.

the lin and hawes connection starts with a hairdo

Full Slate

We're coming off a blow-out win at Memphis. They're fresh off a double overtime loss against the Warriors. Let's hope that the home court and fresher legs tilt the scales our way. The Celtics are built for the regular season though and might be even deeper than our team.

It will be a tough game. The Celtics match us well. It depends to our bench to outscore their bench. Their bench isn't good as before because Isiah Thomas has moved to the starter spot.

We need to play better than usual because they can neutralize our depth. We need to make our open shots. It could be a struggle to put together good possessions so we can't be missing wide open threes, with fewer good possessions to go around. Can't botch them.

I hate our matchup with Boston. They probably matchup with us better than any team in the East, sans Cleveland. They have great defensive perimeter players to cover Kemba, Lin and Batum. They have the depth to outscore our bench. Just gotta hope we catch them with dead legs and our shots are still raining from last night. and for **** sake, we can let Kelly Olynyk drop 28 on us.

I think in no particular order: Hornets, Boston, Cleveland, and Indiana are the four best teams in the east.

I think it could be a right order.

Man, IT is paid like 7 millions/year for this year, then 6.5 million next year, 6.2 million next year....talking about a bargain, smh....
IT's got the contract after a 20/6 in a bad SAC team, everybody said he is undersized, a defensive liability, but my eyes told me he fights really hard, is decent in Stevens scheme...he hit the FA market at the wrong time...

Boston was really good last year, they just lacked any semblance of a rim protector with Zeller starting, who doesnt even play anymore. Now that they have Amir Johnson who I think is criminally underrated, there defense is just sick it's taken a little drop recently because of the loss of Marcus Smart but its still really good. I think Boston is the only team in the east that averages more points then us as well.

I want to win this game so bad, mostly because of Bill Simmons.

Sullenger and his abnormally large rump will be tough for Marvin or Zeller to handle. I'm taking him in draftkings.
Hopefully it's a good game.

If we don't win, I'd be shocked and a bit disappointed.
But its Stevens, and he always makes it interesting.

First time in his career that PJ faked a wide open 3, then passed?

times like this is when I dont hate Jefferson.

Um, yeah, lets try to get something that is not a jumper.

Team is flat as a pancake. Boston isn't too energetic either.

Lucky Boston is just as flat. Our guys look tired, especially Kemba

Does Frank lead the league in pump fakes per touch? Somebody check on that, stat.

Frank is wide open at the free throw line when he pump fakes. Shoot that ****.

Any chance Frank plays with a little more fire than usual tonight in order to quiet that draft BS? (Editor's note: he finished with 3 points. So yea not really)

We can not let them win the battle of the White Walkers.

The Lamb cold streak continues... or maybe this is normal and what we saw to start the year was the anomaly.

the lin and hawes connection starts with a hairdo

This has been a miserable game to watch. Whoever wakes up first is gonna blow it open.

Shots just aren't falling. We should be ahead by 15 or more right now but we are clanking wide open shots we made the past two weeks

I still can't stand Al, but this is a game he'd dominate in.
I don't miss him though.

We've gotta find a way to get Frank, Hawes, Hansbrough, the Zellers, Lee, Jerebko, and Olynyk on the court together. Would have to be a modern NBA record of some kind.

this is a typical LolCat game. play well for a stretch beating good teams, than play an absolute stinker to bring the fans crashing back to reality

With a Zeller on each team, which side are the parents rooting for?

The team where their son actually plays

Frank is killing me.

Does Thomas ever leave the game? Hes gotta be exhausted

Frank needs his ass beat for passing up shots. Holy ****

Bradley has become pretty good

Lol bradley abusing Lin.

**** this. Just when I woke up early to watch the game, we lose to a team that played double OT last night.

i guess thats the risk of being a jump shooting team, when your tired and your shots are missing, its tough to score.
This was the Al game. He always looks tired, (coz stoned), so he fits right in

at least Sullinger could have scored some points for my fantasy team. geez

Stevens outcoached Cliff tonight. That and the 3Q deficit is why team lost.
