Celtics outrebounded the Hawks and Thunder by a combined 28 in their last 2 wins

The Celtics have been rebounding machines in their last two games against the Atlanta Hawks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jared Sullinger was leading the way with 10 boards against Atlanta and 15 against OKC. He is also leading the team on the year with 9.2 rebounds per game.

The fact that they bested OKC 47-34 on the glass is even more impressive when you consider the Thunder were tops in the league coming into that matchup. Are the Celtics just rebound studs now? Or is it just a two game spike?

As usual the reality is probably somewhere in the middle, as the Celtics are still ranked 26th in total rebounds even after their last two games. The team has showed a lot of hustle and willingness to hit the glass, and although nobody has quite the amount of boards per game as Sully, David Lee and Amir Johnson have been putting up some good rebounding numbers in their minutes. The guards have been doing well as a second wave too.

Tonight vs. Houston they face a middle of the road rebounding team, as they are 18th in the league thus far into the year. Let's hope the trend continues however, both with rebounds and the W's.
