Around the NBA 11/6: Things Celtics fans should know from last night


Although the Boston Celtics were idle, there were 14 other NBA teams in action last night.  Here are 4 things you should know:

2016 DRAFT PICK WATCH

1. The Mavericks demonstrated last night how capable they are of playing poorly enough to actually keep their pick, as they fell at home to the Charlotte Hornets 108-84.   Dallas is now 2-3.  The Celtics will receive the Mavericks 2016 first-round draft pick as long as it falls outside picks 1 through 7.

2. The Minnesota Timerwolves lost at home to the Miami Heat 96-84.   They are now 2-3 on the season.  The Celtics will receive the Timberwolves 2016 first-round draft pick as long as it falls outside picks 1 through 12.

3. Kevin Garnett played only 11 minutes in the Timberwolves loss.  He finished with 4 rebounds and 1 assist.

4. Memphis lost last night in Portland.   Jeff Green (20 min) and Tony Allen (24 min) each scored 6 points.

WHAT'S ON TAP FOR TONIGHT?

7:30 p.m.: Celtics are looking to end their three-game slide tonight at home against the Wizards. Likely due to injury concerns, but maybe not, the Wizards arc currently favored by a point.

7:30 p.m.: BATTLE OF THE WINLESS IN BROOKLYN - NETS VERSUS THE LAKERS.

7:00 p.m.: The undefeated Raptors travel to Orlando to face a tough Magic team.

7:30 p.m.: The 0-4 76ers will be getting their 5th loss in Cleveland against the Cavaliers.

7:30 p.m.: The 2-3 Knicks will play the 2-3 Bucks at Madison Square Garden.

10:30 p.m.: Rondo and the Kings are playing host to the Rockets.
