Around the NBA 11/17: Things Celtics fans should know from last night

As the Celtics were finishing up their impressive two-game swing through Oklahoma City and Houston last night, there were 8 other NBA teams in action. Here is what you should know:

2016 DRAFT PICK WATCH

1. The Mavericks won a close one in Philadelphia over the 76ers last night 92-86. Dallas is now 7-4. Dallas will convey their first-round pick to the Celtics only if it falls between 8-30.  If Dallas' pick falls between 1-7, the conditional 2016 pick will become a 2017 first-round pick with the same conditions.

ATLANTIC DIVISION STANDINGS WATCH

2. The 76ers lost to the Mavericks. Philadelphia's next game is the Pacers at home, after which they embark on a tough six-game road trip. If they lose to Indiana, it is likely they will surpass last year when they opened up the season with 17 straight losses.

3. The Celtics handled the Rockets in Houston 111-95.

4. Boston plays three more games this week and Toronto plays four. The Celtics have the Mavericks at home, Brooklyn at home and the road. The Raptors have road games against the Warriors, Jazz, Lakers and Clippers. Do not be surprised if the Celtics are in first place come Monday morning.

Atlantic Division as of 11/17
Toronto 7-4
Boston 6-4
New York 5-6
Brooklyn 1-9
Philadelphia 0-11

FORMER CELTIC WATCH

5. Jeff Green finished with 20 points and 5 rebounds in last night's win over the Thunder, while Tony Allen had 6 points, 3 steals and 2 assists.
