Around the NBA 11/16: Things Celtics fans should know from the weekend


In addition to the Celtics impressive win over the Thunder this weekend, there were a lot of NBA teams in action this weekend.   Here are 11 things you should know:

2016 DRAFT PICK WATCH

1. The Nets gave the Warriors their first real scare of the season on Saturday night, but ultimately lost the game by eight in overtime.  Brooklyn is now 1-9.  The Celtics own the Brooklyn Nets 2016 first-round draft pick.

2. The Timberwolves lost a close one at home to the Grizzlies 114-106 and are now 4-6 on the season.  Minnesota will convey their first-round pick to the Celtics only if it falls between 13-30.  If Minnesota's pick falls between 1-12, they will instead convey their second-round picks in 2016 and 2017.

3. The Mavericks defeated the Rockets on Saturday night 110-98 to move to 6-4 this season.  They did not play last night.  Dallas will convey their first-round pick to the Celtics only if it falls between 8-30.  If Dallas' pick falls between 1-7, the conditional 2016 pick will become a 2017 first-round pick with the same conditions.

ATLANTIC DIVISION STANDINGS WATCH

4. The Knicks defeated the Pelicans last night.

5. The Raptors lost to the Kings 107-101 last night.

6. The 76ers lost on Saturday night to the Spurs.

7. The Nets lost to the Warriors in overtime on Saturday night.

8. The Celtics beat the Thunder last night.

FORMER CELTIC WATCH

9. Rajon Rondo played 43 minutes last night in the Kings win over the Raptors.  He finished with 7 points, 14 assists, 7 turnovers and 7 rebounds.

10. Kevin Garnett played 24 minutes in last night's loss to the Grizzlies.  He finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

11. Jeff Green contributed to the Grizzlies win over the Timberwolves last night.   Green finished with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.  However, Tony Allen was the only player with a negative +/- at minus-11.
