Celtics TV broadcasts will have Heinsohn at home and Scalabrine on the road

For the upcoming Celtics season, their broadcast team has been made official. Mike Gorman will continue calling all Celtics games, while Tommy Heinsohn will join him at home and Brian Scalabrine will accompany him on the road.

Gorman and Heinsohn are entering their 35th year of calling Celtics basketball together. To put that in perspective they have been doing this before any player on the Celtics was even born. Pretty decent run.

A great listen on the history of Mike and Tommy is available courtesy of CSNNE.com's Into the Archives Celtics podcast.

Having Tommy around still is great. In an NBA landscape where stats and data are becoming king, its fun to listen to a guy who still values what he sees, and is so proud to be old school. While he will no doubt infuriate NBA League Pass fans from other parts of the country who don't happen to bleed green, for those of us who do, he is still fun and entertaining.

While Scalabrine will be doing color for the road games, during home games he will also be busy as he will be a studio analyst for pregame and postgame. While it always seemed he was destined for coaching, Scal may just be carving out a new destiny as a potential heir to Tommy's throne.
