Celtics Odds Update for the 2015-16 NBA Season

One of only two teams under .500 to make the playoffs last season, the Boston Celtics are ready to show they’re for real this time around. With some solid offseason additions the revised Celts lineup should put them over the top as an Eastern Conference contender this year. They’re not quite in the realm of the San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers or Golden State Warriors. However, the team is building nicely and are not far off.

With the addition of David Lee from the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors and Amir Johnson from the Toronto Raptors, Boston has definitely filled some gaps in their starting lineup. Enough so to put them over the top and get them over .500 this year. NBA betting site TopBet has released the Celtic's odds for the 2015-16 season and the green and white are slated to finish second in the Atlantic by a landslide.

Jae Crowder is entering his fourth year, Kelly Olynyk enters his third year and Marcus Smart is entering his second season – needless to say depth will be needed. With the addition of Amir Johnson and Perry Jones, the Celtics have done well building their talent pool off the bench.

Last season Boston ranked 17th overall for points off the bench. A stat that should be corrected with their two additions and ever-improving guard Isaiah Thomas. The team also landed David Lee to help spruce things up in a trade with Golden State. Lee is a career .533 shooter from the field and is expected to play a major role helping the team’s 21st ranked field goal percentage (.433) from last season.

Don’t expect the team to be hoisting NBA gold this year. With the new additions though and the filled in holes, you’ll definitely be able to raise your expectations over the next two seasons.
