Bulpett: "Pursuits have ended" in efforts to bring Tobias Harris and Corey Brewer to Boston

Sorry Celtics fans, this won't be happening.

If you were holding your breath waiting for news of free agent Tobias Harris to sign with the Boston Celtics, you are out of luck.

According to Boston Herald reporter Steve Bulpett, the Celtics are no longer in the running for Harris' services, and their "pursuits have ended." The same goes for their efforts to acquire Corey Brewer:

Sources from other teams and within the player rep community say the C’s were also in play for Tobias Harris and Corey Brewer, but as of late last night, those pursuits have ended.

The Celts had a certain financial parameter in mind for Harris, and when it became clear that Orlando was willing to pay big to match any offer for the restricted free agent, they were out of the running.

The agreement with Crowder essentially removed the Celts’ interest in Brewer.

During the first day of NBA free agency, the Celtics re-signed Jonas Jerebko (2 years/$10 million) and Jae Crowder (5 years/$35 million), and added free agent Amir Johnson (2 years/$24 million).
