LeBron says Celtics series isn't the same without Paul Pierce, who shows why in win over Toronto

The Toronto Sun cover inadvertently predicted Pierce's stellar Game 1 performance. 

Regarding what will be his fifth postseason matchup with the Celtics, LeBron James lamented the fact that for the first time he will not have the opportunity to face Paul Pierce.  Via Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald, yesterday James said:

Well, a playoff series is never the same without Paul, you know, competing against him. I think he’s always been someone I look forward to matching up (with) in the postseason. But he’s not there, and whoever I’m matched up against (tomorrow), I take that matchup and their team very seriously.

In Game 1 of the Wizards-Raptors series, Pierce showed us exactly what James is talking about.  The 37-year-old logged 37 minutes and scored a game-high 20 points (on 7-for-10 shooting) in Washington's 93-86 overtime win in Toronto.


Beginning with the above three-pointer, "The Truth" scored 10 points in a four-minute stretch in the second quarter, helping turn a seven-point Wizards' deficit into a five-point lead.
