Isaiah Thomas: 'That's what you want to be a Boston Celtic for.'

With 6:52 remaining in the second quarter last night, Isaiah Thomas skipped a pass over to a wide open Jonas Jerebko at the top of the key.  Jerebko nailed a three-pointer to make the score Celtics 56, Warriors 30.  I repeat, there were six minutes and 52 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

The TD Garden went bananas.

After the game, Thomas shared his thoughts on the atmosphere in the building (via Jay King of Mass Live):

It was one of them games I used to watch on TV when (Kevin) Garnett and them guys were here, and the crowd was wild. Energy was crazy. That's what you want to be a Boston Celtic for. That was amazing.

And from Brandon Bass:

It was kind of like a playoff atmosphere tonight. It felt great to play in an atmosphere like that. It kind of felt like old times.

The Celtics weren't able to hold their early 26-point lead, eventually falling to the NBA-best Warriors 106-101.  While it was a disappointing defeat, Boston fans should look at the bigger picture here:

Boston has scored at least 58 points in a half in all five games since Thomas' arrival.  Maybe the C's will make the playoffs, maybe they won't.  If they do, the Celtics will almost definitely be eliminated in Round 1.  But, last night's game shows us they're 100 percent capable of making it an entertaining series.
