Report: Brandan Wright informed he's on the trading block

Well, this didn't take too long.

Boston Celtics president Danny Ainge has informed the 6-10 center that he’s on the block and should expect to be on another team. That’s why Wright had a head-scratching DNP this week on a team that could use his skill set.

This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise; Wright, 27, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent and will likely command more money than a rebuilding team like the Celtics is going to want to commit to a third big man.

Before some fans get too upset about 'giving up' on Wright; keep in mind that the Denver Nuggets were just able to secure two first round picks for the services of Timofey Mozgov. While Mozgov is the superior player, clearly there is a strong market for bigs who can walk and chew gum at the same time.

It will be interesting to see if this 'imminent trade' will continue to keep Wright off the floor for the Green.
