Preseason Game 1: Evan Turner showcases his PG skills as C's win

Avery Bradley set the tone for an awful first quarter shooting going 1-7 (1-4) from 3 with one turnover in Boston's first pre-season game of the season.

The Celtics as a team shot a woeful 5-23 in the frame yet still only trailed the 76ers 26-19.

Boston picked it up in the second as they went on a 16-2 run on 6-8 shooting taking a 35-39 lead. Evan Turner was on the floor at the point for much of the run and demonstrated why Brad Stevens has talked about playing him at the point.

Turner had eight points five rebounds two assists and one steal to go along with two turnovers as Boston went into the locker room trailing 48-44.

Kelly Olynyk gave the Celtics a boost early in the third with a beautiful floater and a three as the Celtics led 53-48 after a 9-0 run to start the quarter.

Buoyed by two 3s from Marcus Thornton late and Brandon Bass' 15 points and nine rebounds the C's led 70-65 going into the fourth.

Boston then pretty much cruised in the fourth as rookie James Young played well again finishing with 10 points in 20 minutes on the way to a 98-78 victory.
