Colton Iverson will play in Spain next season

In June of last year the Celtics bought the 53rd pick in the draft from the Pacers in order to select Colorado State center Colton Iverson.  After playing for Boston's summer league squad in 2013, Iverson decided to take his game overseas to Turkey last season when he didn't make the Celtics roster.

Iverson returned to Boston this spring with NBA aspirations for 2014-15.  Again he suited up for the C's summer league team, but apparently the 18 players currently under contract (with 15 guaranteed) in Boston were enough to convince him to return to Europe.

On Tuesday word got out that Iverson will play with the Spanish club Laboral Kutxa Baskonia this season.  Here is the official announcement on the team's website.

The Celtics will still maintain the 25-year-old Iverson's NBA rights.
