NBA News: Mavs reacquire Tyson Chandler from the Knicks

Well Phil Jackson has made his first major player move.
In the proposed deal, the Knicks will receive center Sam Dalembert and guards Jose Calderon, Shane Larkin and Wayne Ellington and the Mavericks' two second-round picks in Thursday's NBA draft – the 34th and 51st overall selections, sources said.
The Mavs let Chandler go a few years back in their attempt to create cap space to sign one of Dwight Howard, Deron Williams, or Chris Paul, but whiffed on them all. They eventually settled for Monta Ellis last Summer. After seeing the Spurs win a title with their old group, the Mavs decided to bring back their center. They were rumored to be interested in free agent Pau Gasol, but after this trade, I'm thinking that ship has sailed. Calderon to Raymond "Fat" Felton is definitely a downgrade, but they still have Devin Harris. Wouldn't be surprised if they try to upgrade that position this Summer though. Mavs should have the cap space to be players in this Summer's free agent fest. Could even end up throwing their hat in the LeBron or Carmelo ring.

The Knicks had been trying to trade for a 1st rounder, but settle for the 34th pick, which should still net them a decent player. Larkin is a good pick-up as well.
