Show me the money: Rondo says everyone just playing for contracts

The 2013-2014 season for the Boston Celtics has been unique to say the least, sub par to the success we’ve been used to in the past. At this point I’m just rooting for competitive losses and to hopefully see the young fellas progress, since this team is destined for the lottery.

But what’s keeping these players motivated? According to Rondo its pretty simple:

Straight cash homie… most of these guys are playing for their next contract. Looking at the C’s payroll on Basketball-Reference proves it as Humphries, Bayless, and Bradley all have deals that expire after this season. On top of that Johnson and Pressey are trying to prove that they belong in the league, so captain Rondo isn’t that far off. Down this final stretch we’ll see who really makes or breakes the bank this offseason.
