Rondo unlikely to play against Kings tonight

Brad Stevens stated that Rajon Rondo will not play tonight against the visiting Sacramento Kings.

There are several ways to view this news. The first way is that it doesn't come as a shock since it was previously reported that Stevens would be monitoring both Rondo and Avery Bradley after this week's game in Philadelphia. Bradley is coming off of an ankle injury and Rondo is still getting back into game shape after a lengthy recovery from knee surgery.

The second way to view it is that the tank is on. As we head into the All-Star Weekend and trade deadline, loses are being more valuable than wins as the Celtics look to improve their draft position this summer. One way to tank is to keep your back court on the bench.

We'll keep you posted on more updates on who is playing and who is sitting tonight as those details become available.
