Bill Simmons to broadcast with Mike Gorman for Lakers game

With Tommy Heinsohn no longer broadcasting many road games, it’s been interesting to see who accompanies the great Mike Gorman on air. A few fill-ins have been awesome, and some not so much; I really wasn't a fan of the sultry sounds of P.J. Carlesimo. Last night Jackie McMullan was phenomenal, I really enjoyed her insight. It was quite impressive considering it was her first time ever broadcasting a game. Comcast Sports Net New England doesn't usually annouce ahead of time who will be covering the away games, so when I found out last night it was a pleasant surprise.

However, today in his weekly interview on the Toucher and Rich Morning show Mike Gorman revealed who will be joining him on air for the Lakers game on their upcoming road trip:

Pretty cool that Bill will take the time in his home town of La-La Land to be on air for Comcast Sports Net New England over his ESPN and Grantland responsibilities. I'm kind of excited actually, I really enjoy Simmons' basketball mind. Hearing his homerism though will rival only Tommy himself. As Fred Toucher said, Gorman will never sound so manly with the high-pitched Simmons rooting for the C's next to him.
