Bass triumphs in Bass/Baby rivalry

The two LSU products went head to head Sunday in a battle that they're both familiar with. Of course, Brandon Bass came out the victor. He admitted he loves having that edge over long-time friend Glen Davis.

"All the time man. I guess because when we're done playing and we're at the local gym, we can talk noise to each other. So it feels good," Bass said. "Just to talk noise when we're done playing. But I wish him the best and I know he wishes me the best."

The history between the two dates back further than LSU. In fact, Bass grew up with Davis in Louisiana. He even recalled stories of Davis sleeping over at his house (and vice versa) as kid.

Of course, the Celtics traded Davis to Orlando in exchange for Bass in December of 2011. Bass had only good things to say about his time in a Magic jersey.

"Yeah I enjoyed my time there in Orlando. I have a home there," Bass said, "so it was fun to play there and it's fun to play against them."

In the fourth quarter Bass was called for a foul for what appeared to be a flop. Jimmy Toscano of CSNNE asked Bass if Davis did indeed flop. Bass laughed.

"Did he flop? He he played here for about four years. Y'all know what he do," he said, smiling.

Bass career averages: 8.7 PTS, 4.7 RBS, 0.7 AST, 49% FG
Davis career averages: 8.9 PTS, 4.8 RBS, 1.0 AST, 45% FG

Quite a rivalry indeed.
