Stevens on fans' treatment of KG and Pierce: "This town gets it"

Brad Stevens never coached Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett.

Stevens, and 10 out of the 15 guys on the current roster, were brought to Boston after Pierce and Garnett were traded to Brooklyn. Even so, Stevens understood the magnitude of Sunday's game when the two future hall of famers returned to Boston.

It was good for Stevens to see how Boston treats those it loves. The town can be a fickle mistress and if fans don't like you, you'll hear it just as loudly, but at the end of the day Boston is all about passion. There is no better sports town in the country.

That can be intimidating, but hopefully Stevens takes it in stride and really embraces Boston as his new home. So far, it seems like he "gets it" as well.
