Rondo is intrigued by the recruitment part of free agency

Hot on the heels of Chris "Multiple Sources" Broussard's comments that Rajon Rondo will be exploring free agency in 2015, Rajon Rondo has commented that the recruiting aspect of free agency intrigues him. Ok. I see you, Rondo. This statement could mean a million different things, but I have narrowed it down to three possible explanations.

1. Chris Broussard was right- Rajon Rondo, who has been with the Celtics since he was drafted to the team in 2007 is facing free agency next summer. More importantly, Rondo is facing free agency not only as a premiere point guard in the NBA, but as one of the most popular basketball players on the planet. Hitting free agency as you enter your prime is a great spot for an athlete of Rondo's caliber to be in. It could be a missed opportunity to not at least listen to offers and allow himself to possibly be recruited.

2. Rajon Rondo: Top Notch Recruiter- Maybe Rondo means that he likes the idea of trying to recruit someone to come play with him in Boston. It has worked in Boston before. Danny Ainge landing Ray Allen to play with Paul Pierce was the what turned the tide and got Kevin Garnett to come to Boston. Now that the Celtics are fully Rondo's team and he has the confidence of respected NBA vets like KG, Paul Pierce, and Kobe Bryant on his side, maybe Rondo's going to jump into the recruitment game and show off the banners himself to some franchise altering talent.

3. Rajon Rondo: Pot Stirring Trollmaster- Rajon Rondo is a smart guy. Rajon Rondo knows what he's doing. There is one subject that Rondo knows better than Connect Four... and that's what people are saying about Rajon Rondo. If I were going to put money down on what Rondo meant by "the recruitment aspect of free agency" it would be that he knew the media would have a field day and Gary Tanguay would shit his pants. Can't imagine there is a better feeling in the world than that.

The Celtics get back in action on Super Bowl Sunday for a matinee with the Orlando Magic. Rajon Rondo is expected to be in action.
