Celtics get blown out by Nuggets 129-98, lose eight of their last nine

Well that was a rough one.

The Celtics (13-22) lose their fifth straight to the Nuggets 129-98 and with four tough opponents in their next four games (@LAC, @GSW, @POR, HOU), Boston is looking at the real possibility of being 13-26 when this stretch is all said and done. I'm all for loses in the quest for a Top 5 pick in the 2014 draft, but I was much happier when they were giving up 20+ point leads and losing close games. These blowouts are no fun.

For the Celtics, Jeff Green had a team-high 17 points, Brandon Bass had 15 points and seven rebounds and Jerryd Bayless had six points on 3-11 shooting in his Boston debut.

For the Nuggets, Kenneth Faried had 21 points and 13 rebounds, Ty Lawson had 19 points and 13 assists and Randy Foye shot 7-12 from the three-point line and finished with 23 points.

Oh, and Keith Bogans got some more run with Courtney Lee traded, chipping in with nine points in 13 minutes. Jared Sullinger was also ejected after getting two flagrant 1s and is tied for the league lead with Miami's Mario Chalmers with five. One more and Sullinger will face a one-game suspension.
