Omer Asik - Jeff Green trade is "nothing"

There has been a lot of talk lately about the Boston Celtics landing big man Omer Asik. It certainly could happen, but it does not look like it will be for Jeff Green if it does.

Everyone seems to have an opinion on this deal. You would think a trade revolving around Brandon Bass would make more sense for Houston seeing they are looking for a power forward. However if they feel Green fits the mold that's up to them. I would have to disagree, but it doesn't matter since it looks like Green is staying put for now.

Realistically, unless Danny Ainge is giving up an asset (Rondo/Sullinger/draft picks), a trade for Asik makes sense for the Celtics. There are many more scoring wings out there than there are legit centers. Even if the idea is not to keep Asik here in the future, you have to think he carries more value than Green.

With December 15th (2013 free agent signings can be traded) behind us and December 19th (2013 off-season traded players can be dealt again) approaching, expect the Celtics to only be rumored to have involvement in more trades.
