Hoopsrumors.com readers think Omer Asik to land in Boston

According to Hoopsrumors.com readers Boston is the leading candidate to land Houston center Omer Asik.

Asik would definitely be a good fit for the Celtics and with the impending return of Rajon Rondo could make them a dangerous team come playoff time.

Brian Robb of CBS Boston thinks either Brandon Bass or Jeff Green will be in play if this deal were to go down:
The Celtics also have a surplus at power forward, a place of need for the Rockets. Ainge would be selling high on Brandon Bass or Jeff Green in a potential deal, and the team also has plenty of first-round picks at their disposal, so they wouldn’t be mortgaging their future by sacrificing one for Asik.

I disagree on the Jeff Green supposition however. He's too versatile and playing too well. Not to mention, he's a small forward not a power forward.

Bass and Marshon Brooks would work well.

Houston would get a quality power forward with playoff experience in Bass and Brooks might just need an opportunity, not unlike Jordan Crawford, to showcase his skills in a new setting.

Houston and their uptempo style could be the perfect place for Marshon to take the offensive repertoire that allowed him to score 52 points at home against the Fighting Irish his Senior year at Providence.

A Big East record.
