Dated video of Kyrie Irving telling little boy he won't leave Cleveland, like Lebron, is making its way around the net

By Clint Corey

Kyrie Irving’s two-year-old video answering the question, "Are you going to leave us like Lebron left us?" postulated by a little boy is again making its way around the web.

In reality, as Brett Pollakoff from NBC Sports reported, unless Irving were traded, which is highly unlikely, Kyrie will be with the Cavs, whether he wants to, or not, for at least the next few years:

It’s worth pointing out that Irving can’t leave anytime soon, at least not if the Cavaliers want him to stay. The team has a contract option that they will most certainly pick up for next season, and can retain the right to match any offer Irving may receive as a restricted free agent the year after that by simply extending him a qualifying offer.

If Irving continues on his current trajectory, he’ll be in line for a max contract from the Cavaliers that will begin in the 2015-16 season, and go for a minimum of three years (if Irving negotiates an opt-out clause). We’re a long way away from him even having the ability to leave Cleveland, but it probably doesn’t hurt for fans in the city to hear him say he’s going to stay anyway. No matter how old the footage is.

From a basketball fan's perspective I am excited to see this Cleveland team to develop with Irving at the point. They have some nice young pieces, and, other than Rajon Rondo, Kyrie is my favorite point guard in the league.

The one big question with Irving is whether he can stay healthy for an entire season.

The bigger question in Cleveland, as oppsed to if Kyrie is going to stay with the Cavs, which is a foregone conclusion, should be is whether or not Lebron James is going to return to The Cavaliers after this season.

Of course if Miami three-peats that question goes out the door. I, however, like Steve Kerr, don't believe that's going to happen.

Although, I disagree with Kerr, in that I think its going to be The Pacers, and not The Bulls to take down the two time champions.

Originally, I thought it was a slam dunk for Lebron to return to Cleveland. After all, you couldn't ask for a better young returning nucleus than Kyrie, Tristan Thompson and what I thought was going to be their rim protector for years to come: Nerlens Noel.

Unfortunately, with the drafting of Anthony Bennett, I feel this question becomes much more convoluted and the likelihood of James returning has diminished dramatically with this one organizational decision (to draft Bennett over Noel).

Either way, it's going to be fun to watch Kyrie play this season and very interesting to see what Lebron's next "decision" will be at the culmination of the 2013-2014 NBA basketball season to say the least.
