Oden still a target for the C's, but not high priority

Earlier this season the Celtics met with former Trail Blazer Greg Oden in Waltham to speak about a possible return to the court for the '13-'14 season. Oden, 1st overall pick in the '07 Draft, has only played a mind blowing 82 games in his 5 year career due to his mirage of injuries and setbacks.  The C's obviously have had a huge disadvantage when it comes to depth in the 4-5 positions, so should they take a chance on the often injured center? Most will say no simply because of the fact that injuries have held him from playing a single NBA game since the 2009-2010 season, but if he comes cheap I would say why not?

Danny Ainge had this to say about Oden: (via Boston Herald)

"We'll look into Greg still," Ainge said of the 2007 No. 1 overall pick who hasn't played since making 21 appearances in the 2009-10 season. "He wasn't ready to play when we saw him last. He  wasn't ready to work out - I mean, not like a real workout. We'll probably check into that some time this summer."

After all these years and all the surgeries I'm puzzled how he wasn't even ready to workout earlier this year. Maybe he should have went to Kobe's miracle knee doctor.

If you're the C's GM would you pick up free agent Greg Oden? If so, for how long and how much? Sound off in the comments!
