ESPN Boxscore

I apologize for the lack of grades for the past two games.

Player Grades:
I grade on a curve!

Kevin Garnett: 16 Points, 13 Rebounds
Garnett, like most of the players tonight, did not shoot well. But he was aggressive in drawing free throws, and rebounded extremely well. His impact defensively wasn't as noticeable as usual, but his performance was very good coming off of a triple-overtime game.
B+

Brandon Bass: 8 Points, 7 Rebounds
Bass had a very black and white game today. His shot was on and he really helped space the floor. He also did a great job on the boards, showing aggression in that area. But he was absolutely abused defensively, especially in one-on-one matchups. Bass had a decent game overall, but his failures were highlighted tonight.
B+

Paul Pierce: 13 Points, 8 Rebounds, 8 Assists
The Captain put up some nice stats tonight, but his actual impact was debatable. He should absolutely be commended for continuing his strong rebounding, and fulfilling his role as a point-forward adequately. But he absolutely struggled with his shot tonight, and was attacked on defense. Doc didn't do him any favors by putting him in some stupidly small lineups, but he was at the other end of some mismatches tonight. But his efforts are appreciated coming off of a 50-minute game.
B

Avery Bradley: 8 Points, 3 Steals
Avery struggled offensively tonight, and was over-matched on defense at times. He didn't have one of his better games. With Barbosa going down with injury, Bradley will have to step up offensively, and definitely be more consistent.
B-

Courtney Lee: 4 Points, 4 Rebounds
Courtney didn't see a lot of playing time tonight, but he did his best in the limited time. He didn't shoot particularly well, but he put energy in. His defense was not very good tonight however, and he definitely could have played better.
B

Jeff Green: 18 Points, 4 Rebounds
Jeff clearly had the best game of any Celtic today. He was super-aggressive on offense, drawing 7 free throws, and scoring well and efficiently. 18 points on 8 shots is nothing to sneeze at. Jeff did his best to put us in a position to win, and it is heartening to see him continue his strong play.
A

Chris Wilcox: 8 Points, 3 Rebounds
Wilcox didn't play many minutes, but he made an impact in his limited time. He definitely is one of the better players on the team at finding himself in position to score easy buckets. I definitely believe Wilcox should be seeing more playing time in the coming days.
B+

Jason Collins:
Collins played some sizable minutes tonight (for him) but unfortunately failed to make a positive impact. A talent upgrade that would fully relegate him to the bench would be welcome.
C

Jason Terry: 12 Points, 6 Assists
Terry well tonight, really fulfilling his role as an offensive spark. He shot well, and did a good job as a facilitator as well. It would have been nice to see him get more shots, but his own play has to be commended.
A-

Leandro Barbosa:
Heartbreaking what happened to him tonight. While the details of his injury are not official, it is pretty clear that it is serious. He deserves better than going out like this.

Boston Celtics: 91 Points, 44 Rebounds, 26 Assists
The Celtics lost tonight, but they did not play particularly badly. They did a good job of not turning the ball over, they drew plenty of free throws, they shot well from 3, and they basically held their own on the boards. The Bobcats won because they simply made plays down the stretch, while the Celtics didn't. The Celtic defense also did not perform well tonight, although the offensive futility of the Bobcats nearly made the defense look good. While a loss is tough, a close loss coming off of a triple-overtime game doesn't seem as bad. The Celtics go back home and take on the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday (02/13/13).
