Update: No trade imminent of Cousins to Boston

After a flurry of chatter to the contrary Sunday night, the latest reports say Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins is not coming to Boston.

The talk started after the Celtics waved Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado Sunday. Some speculated that was a move to free up cap space as the team positioned itself for a major deal, because waving Joseph caught many off guard.

Once that ball started rolling, the trade proposals started flooding in. There were talks of three-way deals involving the Lakers and Pau Gasol as well as a straight up package of players from Boston to Sacramento with trading Avery Bradley being the sticking point.

Keep in mind, no general manager wants to show his hand and all these reports came from unnamed sources so take them how you want. The talks could have fallen apart over Bradley or there could have been no talk at all. The Kings still insist Cousins is not on the market, which could be true or they could be saying that to get a better deal.

Don't be surprised if the trade rumors start flying again later today or tomorrow or the next day or next week or next month when the trade deadline arrives
