Celtics forward Paul Pierce was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week by the NBA after averaging 25 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 assists as the C's won all four of their games and moved into first place in the Atlantic Division.
Pierce scored a season-high 36 points in a win over the Bobcats on Wednesday and capped the week with a 23-point, seven-rebound performance against the Heat on Sunday. Kevin Garnett was also nominated for player of the week honors.
