Celtics and Hollins working on contract

Ryan Hollins cleared waivers at 2 pm today and reports are that the Celtics are working with him on a contract which could be completed as early as this afternoon.   I'll let the tweets tell the rest of the story:

The Herald reported that both Pierce and Garnett worked out with Hollins during the lockout so he will already have a familiarity with their games and some chemistry there. From CSNNE:

Hollins, who played at UCLA, spent the lockout working out and playing in games with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

Ainge said Garnett and Pierce urged him this summer to try and sign Hollins.

"They really liked his game and the way he could play with them," Ainge said. "I think he would fit in well with what we do."

Now we play 20 questions to see who else is on their radar. Dickerson said that the Celtics weren't able to get Diaw. Reports are that he is expected to sign with the Spurs if he clears waivers. Another name that has been mentioned is Kyrylo Fesenko but Sherrod Blakely said on twitter that he doesn't thing that they are pursuing him. My vote is for Leon Powe. He did leave his team in Puerto Rico for an opportunity in the NBA but haven't heard any reports of Danny pursuing him. That would fit the reports that Danny wanted to sign a power forward along with Hollins. Then again, the Mavs have waived Sean Williams. I can't stand the suspense!!
