According to Sherrod Blakely from Comcast Sports Net New England, Rajon Rondo will likely play in tonight's Boston Celtics vs New York Knicks game after sitting out 8 games with an injured wrist.

From CSNNE.com:

While there's still no official word yet, all indications are that Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will return to the Celtics' lineup tonight against the New York Knicks.

Rondo, who has missed the last eight games with a right wrist injury, was an active participant in the team's morning shootaround.

Earlier this week, coach Doc Rivers said tonight's game was a likely target date for the two-time all-star to return to action.

Prior to Tuesday's win at Cleveland, Rondo said he had done very little dribbling and had focused more on running to keep up his conditioning.

Rondo, who will likely be chosen by the Eastern Conference coaches as an All-Star reserve, told CSNNE.com he would not play in the All-Star game if he couldn't get a few regular season games under his belt leading up to it.

"If they select me and I don't play until Feb. 22 or games before that, there's no way I'm playing in the All-Star game," Rondo told CSNNE.com.

Even if he does play tonight, Rondo cautions no one should expect him to pick up where he left off prior to the injury.

"Regardless when I come back, it's not like I'm going to come back 100 percent," Rondo said. "I'm just trying to get as close as whenever I can function. If that's 50 percent, then I'll be back."
