Green Targets: Kelenna Azubuike & Chris Wilcox

The needs of the Celtics have been well documented on this site and we are all in agreement that size is the biggest concern with bench scoring next on the list.

As the free agent market opens up officially today and is drying up by the second, lets discuss two lesser names that many are not talking about in free agency.

Kelenna Azubuike and Chris Wilcox.

How the Celtics could get them:
The Celtics will need multiple pieces to fill out the roster and these two gentleman will come at a bargain basement price should the Celtics find themselves interested in one or both. Signing them outright at the veteran's minimum is certainly in the realm of possibility.

Pros:
The Celtics lacked scoring punch and rebounding last season, especially off the bench. Azubuike is only 27 years old. He can score and hit the three with consistency. While Wilcox doesn't exactly inspire excitement, he is a big body that could help provide rebounding and post scoring. His potential is fading but he could be motivated by the tradition of the Celtics and Doc Rivers.

Cons:
Both guys are extremely injury prone. Azubuike had to have the procedure on his knee redone in April as the first surgery was deemed unsuccessful. He also had a reputation for being trigger happy in Golden State.Wilcox seems to play with little effort in addition to suffering from an assortment of injuries annually.

We have got to fill out the roster somehow and as long as the price is right these guys are options worth exploring.
