CSNNE.com has learned that Pietrus is leaning "heavily" towards the #Celtics, provided he clears waivers.
Celtics should be able to get this done, as it's doubtful any team under the cap will claim Mickael Pietrus first and be bound to pay his full salary. The Celtics trimmed their roster down to 14 today, so Pietrus would be the final addition to the roster and be called upon to pick up the slack left by the loss of Jeff Green.

Pietrus is about as good a replacement for Green as we'll find.

I like this guy. I think he can help a lot when health. I like our team, and our chances to get a championship this year. I think this team is gonna be a tough team, and we should be able to battle with anyone. Our bench will be better; once Rondo starts hitting his mid range shots, it's gonna open up the game a whole lot more for the vets. Bring Miami, and Chicago. I'm think the Thunder will play the Cs in the finals. Book it!
Exactly. Knicks aren't getting Chandler. He'll end up back with Denver. Regarding Pietrus he's not that good anymore. He's become basically a 3 point shooter only on offense (and he failed his physical), but you can only expect so much right now. Slim pickings. I've suggested trading Green to a team that would value having his Bird rights in order for the Celtics get a quality player, but they don't seem to be interested in doing that.
The guys that get into it with KG are usually guys that have a similar fire and passion for the game, they'll become great teammates.
Jeff Green is twice as good as anything you could trade him for. Give the kid a chance with a training camp and you'll see.

I think, when J.R. Smith, Kenyon Martin, AND Wilson are in the market someone will get cut, I Just have that gut feeling atm.. Don't expect DA to go out all quiet on one of them, Most likely Pietrus would be traded for Wilson/J.R. Smith guess we'll find out soon..

As JR mentioned Pietrus hasn't been playing great recently, but he would be the perfect replacement for Jeff Green given the constraints on the market and C's budget. He is athletic (the motto of our second unit this year just like it was in 2008), brings energy and is a 3-point shooter (Doc was complaining about that a couple of days ago)
I'm for it. I'd definitely take him over Martin, and would rather take him than the chance of landing Chandler or Smith or any imaginary free agent at this point.

Ainge would be a fool not to sign Pietrus, he has consistently nailed down his 3 point game every season, he creates his own shot, provides a Ray Allen type presence and is versatile, he would fill Jeff Green's void in more ways than one

@DH his knee issues have passed and he has rehabbed. it happened right after the Raptors passed on him, it's almost as if the basketball gods are trying to bring him to the Celtics lol
