All I want for Christmas is an injury free season and a DD gift card

I'm writing this from a Dunkin Donuts in Harwichport on the Cape. No matter how many times I come to Massachusetts I still can't get over how many DD's are here. It's simply magical. I was thinking what I want from Santa this year and it really came down to two things; A DD gift card and the Celtics going the entire season without significant injuries to their key players.  While this may seem like a fool's dream, I believe in Christmas magic and I believe in the power of Santa.

First things first, Jermaine O'Neal, the walking injury himself, needs to be healthy for us to win anything of significance. He's looked good in pre-season, but he's usually good for about 5 games before he hurts something. With the news of the potential Pietrus signing comes another injury risk. If Pietrus can stay healthy it gives us a solid shooter and defensive player off the bench. With the slim pickings available right now, Ainge needs to make this happen.

As far as Pierce goes, sit him out as long as he needs. I'd rather have a healthy Pierce in the spring. Pavlovic is kind of a bum but I think we can at least go .500 without Pierce. Realistically all we need is a 6 seed in the playoffs to avoid a first round match-up with the Bulls or Heat.  Other injury concerns are Garnett and Marquis Daniels. If we lose either of these guys for significant time it will be hard to compete.

Santa, I believe in you and I hope you are reading this right now despite your busy schedule. Please bring health to our old Celtics for one more run at a title. If you can throw in a DD gift card as well that would be great. Happy Holidays to CelticsLife fans everywhere, especially you Norman Dale!
