What I'll do if there's a lockout

I haven't watched more than an hour straight of TV in about a month which means only one thing; No sports. Usually I can get through the sport less (unless you count the eternal baseball regular season) for a few months by passing the time kayaking or playing basketball.  However, if there is no football or basketball in the fall and winter, I shudder to think what will happen with my life.

First things first, football I think is ultimately going to happen. There is way too much money at stake and way too much to lose in general. I side with the players here because you literally take 10 years off your life playing the sport and they deserve to be paid. The owners have more money than they could spend in 12 lifetimes. The two sides need to stop being idiots and get something done.

Basketball is another story. I'm concerned if there is a shortened season, which is looking like a guarantee at this point, Garnett will retire.  I truly believe the Celtics have one more run in them, but not without KG. Can you imagine those cold winter nights without your beloved Celtics? I can't. Basketball is as popular as its been since the Jordan days, they need to work something out before the momentum is lost.

Maybe if there is no basketball I'll join the circus. That might keep me busy. Or start watching some horrendous reality TV show. Maybe I can start learning how to cook more than your basic chicken and rice dish. Maybe I'll get a girlfriend. Maybe I'll form my own ring toss team. I'm driving myself crazy just thinking of all the possibilities. Let's hope they get something worked out soon.
