City Hall Plaza Selected as Site for Bill Russell Statue

Bill Russell, an 11-time NBA champion and outspoken human rights advocate, will be commemorated with a statue in Boston's City Hall Plaza. The announcement of the statue's future location took place on site Monday morning.

Three finalists have been chosen to design a tribute to the Celtics legend, with the winning design being completed for an official unveiling in the spring of 2012.
